Jodi Naik (Ngāti Maniapoto) is a contemporary painter and photographer based in Taranaki, New Zealand. Her artistic practice is a journey into inner stillness, where she seeks to connect with the tranquil space within. Deeply inspired by Te Ao Mārama—the world of light and enlightenment in Te Ao Māori—Jodi explores the interplay between darkness and illumination, revealing the beauty that emerges through stillness and introspection.

As a Māori artist, she draws from her whakapapa and cultural heritage, using pointillism—a meticulous, time-consuming technique—as a form of meditation. This process allows her to immerse herself in the rhythmic unfolding of light, echoing the gradual journey from Te Kore (the void) and Te Pō (darkness) into Te Ao Mārama.

Jodi holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts, majoring in Painting and Print, from Auckland University of Technology, graduating in 2017. Her work blends technical mastery with emotional depth, inviting viewers to experience moments of calm and reflection. Each piece is an exploration of self, offering a quiet space for contemplation and personal connection.
